2012 Regular Session prohibited period

It is unlawful during the prohibited period for a state legislator or a candidate for state legislator, or any agent on behalf of either, to knowingly solicit a contribution for a political purpose. The prohibited period means the period beginning January 1 prior to the regular session of the legislature and ending on adjournment of the session.

It is unlawful during the prohibited period for the Governor, or any agent on her behalf, to knowingly solicit a contribution for a political purpose. The prohibited period means the period beginning January 1 prior to the regular session of the legislature and ending on the twentieth day following adjournment of the session.


Campaign Finance Information System Lobbyist Reporting Module

As of the May 2011 Filing Period, the NM Secretary of State has implemented the Campaign Finance Information System Lobbyist Reporting Module that is publicly searchable. All lobbyist reports from May 2011 forward will be entered through CFIS and will be available for public review. Through CFIS, the public is able to review all lobbyist and lobbyist employer information as well as individual lobbyist expenditures or political contributions during a specified reporting period.
